Add a few traditional lanterns overhead and you might just forget you’re in Singapore. It’s cosy, nostalgic, and refreshingly unpretentious—perfect for a laid-back meal with friends or family.
The Food
Lang Nuong 1980s serves up a menu that goes beyond the usual pho and banh mi, offering dishes that are less commonly seen in other Vietnamese eateries here.
Here’s what we tried.
Fresh Spring Roll

Light, fresh and minty. tHis is exactly what you’d want to kick off a Vietnamese meal. The herbs were generous, giving it a clean and zesty bite.
BBQ Pork Belly

Smoky and savoury with a nice char. The pork was tender, not overly fatty, and had just the right balance of seasoning.
Shrimp Sour Soup

This one’s for fans of bold flavours. The broth packed a tangy punch that is sharp, refreshing and slightly spicy. Definitely a standout for those who love their soups with a kick.
Verdict
Lang Nuong 1980s hits the mark with its relaxed, old-world atmosphere and flavourful Vietnamese fare. It’s not your typical polished fine-dining spot, and that’s exactly why we like it.
Come for the vibes, stay for the food, and leave with plans to return.
