1987 Korea BBQ – Affordable K-BBQ Feast at Katong Square

Tucked away at the back of Katong Square, 1987 Korea BBQ may not be the biggest K-BBQ joint around, but it’s surprisingly comfortable and well laid out.

Location

 The interior has a clean, modern-industrial vibe with individual grill tables spaced nicely for a relaxed dining experience.

We went for the weekday 90-minute unlimited buffet ($28++), and it turned out to be a great deal.

While the meats are from the regular range, the quality is impressive for the price. 

Our top picks were the beef brisket and marinated chicken dishes, both tender and flavourful off the grill.

The buffet also includes complimentary soup, starters, rice, and fruits, which complement the meal nicely. The starters were particularly delightful, and with the variety of meats on offer, you’ll definitely leave full.

Verdict

Considering a single meat platter at most K-BBQ restaurants costs close to $20, the buffet here is well worth it — a solid choice for those craving a hearty Korean BBQ without burning a hole in the pocket.
