The Lumos Evoke immediately wins on looks. It has that old school, slightly nostalgic digital camera aesthetic that feels like something you’d bring to a café hop or overseas trip just for the vibes.

It looks retro. It feels compact. And honestly, it’s quite shiok to hold.

If you’re the type who misses the days of carrying a dedicated camera instead of shooting everything on your phone, this might scratch that itch.

For $149, the specs are surprisingly decent.

Photo quality is decent. Don’t expect flagship smart

Video quality is acceptable, though we did notice it can be slightly jerky at times, especially if you are moving while recording. So this is not your cinematic travel vlog camera. It is more for casual content.

This is one of our favourite things about it.

One underrated benefit is saving phone storage.

But if you are looking for:

• A stylish vintage looking digital camera

• A budget friendly content camera

• A secondary camera to reduce phone storage usage

Then this is a very reasonable buy.

Would we replace our main camera with it? No.
Would we bring it along for fun shoots and casual travel? Yes.
