The King Louis @ Vivocity : Review + Giveaway

Entrance to The King Louis

The Invitation

Hear Ye Hear Ye!
The King has invited his loyal subjects to a royal banquet.
Come with an empty stomach and have your fill in this feast for kings.

-The King Louis
Who could refuse an invitation like that?

Being young knights in training, an invitation from the King is a honourable delight. With bated breath, we eagerly waited for the day to arrive. When that fateful evening arrived, we made our way to The King Louis located at Vivocity.

It was not hard to spot the castle especially when there are 2 knights guarding the entrance. It did not take long before we get acquainted and decided to be their understudy.

Within the Castle
Feast Like Kings
The motto of The King Louis is to "Feast Like Kings". We had a banquet especially prepared for us for the evening. There is also specially tailored kids menu, which makes it a great place for a family day out.
Kids Menu
As we await for our banquet to be serve, we decided to venture around the castle. The castle itself has two main floors with a mezzanine level. We were told that it could house up to 250 subjects, making it an ideal venue for a mega birthday bash or a corporate event for the adults.
The Tiger
It is said that Kings love the wild beasts such as lions and tigers. It is apparent in the coats of arms they adopted. That probably explains the presence of a tiger within the premises.
Other than the tiger, you would probably notice the various knights guarding the castle grounds. These knights were mostly imported and we reckon some of them were from the Round Table.
Knights of the Round Table
The view from the restaurant is totally awesome. We were seated on the lower level next to the glass panel with a direct view of Sentosa. The sight of cable cars and monorail excite us and it was countless how many times we shrieked when we spotted one.

We were told on Saturday evening, Merlin will spin his wizardry for the King with a spectacular fireworks that last about 10 minutes. It is no wonder the lower level is filled every weekend. To catch a glimpse of Merlin's magic, do make a reservations first!

Feast for kings!
With the food in place, it is time to feast!
The first few courses were already a hearty meal by themselves. We were told the star dish has yet to be served. To work out our appetite, we decided to continue our exploration of The King Louis.
Cool decor
The Decor within is distinctively medival. With its castle theme, it is no surprised that The King Louis has won the Best in Family Theme restaurant awarded by Parents for 2 years running.
Best in Family Theme Resturant
Our fabulous host Sebastian tells us that The King Louis would like to reach out to more royal subjects, there are likely to organise events catering to families in the works in the near future.

It is an resounding 'Aye' for us.
Jester, Knights and Tiger
Back to the food. Our main courses have arrived
The Dragon Platter
  • Dragon Platter (for 3 kids) (castle drumlets, prawn twisters, curly fries, mini burgers and sausages) - $27.0
First up is The Dragon Platter for us to indulge. The best part of the platter would be the sausages, which we dutifully wolf down with glee.
This was swiftly followed by a Dish made for Kings - The Queen Banquet

Consisting of a mixture of seafood and premium meat , the sight of the dish was simply awe inspiring. We were impressed with the large servings and the presentation.

Can we really finished all these glorious food?
Queen's banquet
  • The Queen Victoria 2-3pax (Meat & Seafood) (Roasted beef with black pepper sauce, Premium BBQ baby back ribs, Pan Seared snapper with wasabi mayo sauce, Oven Baked King Prawns with melted Australian cheese, Sauteed scallop with garlic & wine sauce) - $108.50
With the avalanche of food, we could only do the following...

After we devoured the tender meat and fresh seafood , there was a platter of vegetables and potatoes beneath. At this stage, with our imploding tummies , we requested a time out. Luckily for us, The King Louis understands its portions are generous and offered to ' ta pau' the food back for a mini feast back home.

For a family of four, we think the Queen's Banquet and the Dragon Platter would be more than sufficient.
Hidden gems
There is still a little space left in our tiny tummies for a cup of ice-cream.
After dinner, we took a quick tour around the A graded royal kitchen. We thought that we would be bought to an old chamber full of pots and pans; however we were greeted with a clean and neat kitchen manned by a crew of 5. It is amazing how they can produce these royal dishes in such a short time!
The A class Royal kitchen
It was a delightful evening spend. With great food, fantastic ambiance and a wonderful view of Sentosa, the whole family enjoyed their dinner time. We would be back for sure, especially when the activities for kids / families are in place at The King Louis.

As for our verdict on the banquet, check out the reply in the video below!
