Green Hotel Tai Chung Review

Which hotel to choose in Taichung?

During our visit to Taichung, we wanted a hotel that is near the famed Feng Jia Market. There are plenty of options to stay around the area. However, the dates where we travel appear to be popular among holidaymakers. After searching through booking.com, we decided to call Green Hotel home during our stay in Taichung.

Green Hotel is a 3star Hotel located on Xitun Road. It had rooms ranging from dormitory style to 2 bedrooms for families. It's known as the Green Hotel due to its decor. There is a 13 metres tall green wall running from the 1st floor to the top floor!

We arrived in Taipei at Taoyuan Airport. To get to the Green Hotel, we opt for a direct transfer via a private car booked from Klook.

We intended to stay in Taichung for 3 nights before heading out to Taipei. You can check out our Full Itinerary and guide here. Check-in time was at 3pm. We arrived but had to wait for a while to get our rooms. The reception was not very big, with only a front desk and no seats to wait. You could opt to stay in the coffee shop next to it or in the basement before getting the rooms.

Rooms
Green Hotel Rooms
The accommodation for the stay is a deluxe quadruple bedroom. The room only measures 18m². It's not a huge room, but it can fit 2 queen-size beds. Decorated in light green and white hues, the rooms are clean. At about SGD $150 a night, it is a very affordable option for a family of four. The room also comes with a Window, which is not the norm in Taiwan.
Queen Beds
Other facilities include a flat-screen TV and Coffee Maker. There are no cupboards and a safe. You can choose to hang your clothes on the hangers provided against the wall. Complimentary water is available in the common area, and the room comes with a mini-fridge too.

For a 3 Star Hotel, the toilet is surprisingly luxurious. It does not come with a bathtub but a huge shower space in a marble-clad toilet.

Bathroom amenities such as toothbrushes and hairdryers are provided.

Hotel Amenities
Take a plant
We reckoned that the Green Hotel Taiching has its quirky side. For example, you could take a succulent plant up the room as a 'sleeping partner'.

A light breakfast consisting of bread and cereals are provided in the morning at the pantry in the basement. It probably will not keep you full, but it's a nice touch for the guest of the hotel.

The basement is also a fun place to hang out for the kids. There is ample space for kids to roam around.

There is even a mini treehouse for kids to play in.

There are no shops there but an open store where you can get your drinks, snacks and noodles. No cashier around, just honesty to do its wonders.

Guest can also leave messages on the board that shows the location of the Green Hotel and Taichung attractions. All these gave out a feeling of warmth during our stay. If you enjoy the communal spirit, Green Hotel is a great place to stay in Taiching.

For those looking for a place to eat, there is the Proteus Coffee and Cake on the 1st floor. Other than that, there are plenty of restaurants located along the streets.

Location wise, Green Hotel is perfect with only a 5 minutes walk to Fenjia Market and the shopping district of Xitun. We headed out to Fengjia Market EVERY Night during our stay!

Fengjia Market is touted as the largest night market in Taiwan, it's the perfect place for you to fill your stomach with Taiwanese Street food and shop for souvenirs!

If you are planning a trip to Taichung, Fengjia Green Hotel will be a place we recommend!
