Are you ready for the year of the Tiger?

This year CNY will probably be a muted affair. With a cap of 5 visitors per household per day, one would probably restrict to visiting immediate family for CNY. 

This also means that you would have time to spare to indulge in CNY activities all over the idea. Here are activities that are planned for families for this festive period.

1 Chinatown CNY Lightup
7 Jan to 2 March 20227pm-12mn (Daily)
Along New Bridge Road, Eu Ton Seng Street and South Bridge Road


While Chinatown may not have the usual street market, it does retain the street light up. Check out the 10.5 meters tall Tiger Family along with 60 handcrafted tigers along the streets. There are still stores selling CNY goodies and decorations, so you could still top them up before CNY.

Gardens by the Bay

One of the largest Chinese New Year Festival in Singapore, this year's edition moves to Gardens By the Bay. Admire 30 charming lanterns, amusement rides and nightly festive shows by homegrown talents.

Admission is gree and entry by ticketing. Limited slots are available.

Usher in the year of the Tiger and welcome the arrival of spring at Dahlia Dreams. Stroll along with a backdrop of prosperity bags and red lanterns that symbolize good fortune and happiness. There are over 2000 blossoming dahlias made up of over 70 cultivars for you to admire.

10 Museum Roundtable Lunar New Year Hongbao Campaign

In celebration of the Year of the Tiger, museum-goers can look forward to collecting limited edition Hongbao from 35 participating museums with each visit.  Each visitor can receive a set of 8 red packets subject to collection criteria at various museums.

Indulge in Chinese culture at Huayi with a wide array of performances, workshops and activities. There will be an opening performance with Lion Dance Performance. There is a limited seating capacity on a first come first serve basis.  This is only open for vaccinated patrons (except children under 12). The performance will also be Livestream

Catch the Chingay virtually on 12 Feb 2022. This will be live telecast on the webcast. 
You can watch the repeated performance on channel 5 and 8 on Sunday, 27 Feb at 7pm 




If you miss the Chingay Floats in the neighbourhood, look out for the Chingay busses instead. These buses are already on the road now. Can you spot them?
