Privé Botanic Gardens Review : Dine admist the greenery
Hungry at Botanic Gardens?
If you are at Singapore's first UNESCO World Heritage Site and feeling hungry, you could stop by Privé and have an all-day dining and drinks experience in a laidback atmosphere.
Nestled main the lush greenery, Prive is located at the Botanical Gardens Nassim Gate Visitor Centre. It is a few steps from Symphony Lake, where the Shaw Foundation Sympony Stage is.
Privé has both indoor and outdoor seating.
It also has a small indoor playground and fund corner for entertaining little ones while parents indulge in a bit of relaxation time.
For food, they served all day breakfast, soup, sandwiches, wraps, burgers, pasta, pizzas, Asian and Western Main. Food is a tad pricey for a casual meal, but the ambience and location of being in the middle of Botanic Gardens made up for it.
We popped in for breakfast and ordered a burger and a wrap for a meal. Despite the crowd, the service was fast and prompt.
Pulled Pork Knuckle Burger ($22.5)
This burger has Jalapeno, red onions, BBQ sauce, friends and mesclun. The pulled pork was tender, and the burger was light yet filling. The Fries were fried crisp, and the bun was toasted. Overall, the taste was good but not that wow.
Club Wrap ($21.5)
This wrap was filled with smoked ham, bacon, cajun chicken, cheddar, tomato, omelette, pickles, mayonnaise and mesclun. It's a mouthful. The wrap is not soggy despite the content making it a decent wrap.
Verdict
Having a meal at Privé is more about the atmosphere than the food. The food did not really wow us, but being in a laid-back setting did. While we were eating, roosters were walking casually by our table. If you are planning a meal there, choose the outdoor seats. Nothing beats fresh air, nature and a nice meal.
