Ros Lamul Thai Restaurant Review: Best Thai Resturant in Singapore?
![]() |
“Best Thai restaurant in Singapore.”
When you Google Ros Lamul, you’ll see a bold claim in the search results as above. That’s a strong statement, especially in a city where Thai cuisine is both beloved and competitive. So the big question is: does it live up to the hype?
The Location
Tucked away along a quiet row of shophouses directly opposite Kong Hwa School on Guillemard Road, Ros Lamul isn’t the easiest place to spot. Unlike the bustling food scene on the Geylang end of the street, this area has only a handful of restaurants. Parking is limited to roadside ticketed lots, so if you’re driving, it’s best to come early.

The restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor seating. We opted for the indoor setting, which was cosy and inviting. Despite its modest size, the place was packed on a Friday night — a promising sign.
The Food
While we wouldn’t go so far as to crown it the best Thai food in Singapore, Ros Lamul certainly delivered a meal worth remembering. The menu is extensive, offering a mix of individual rice and noodle dishes as well as sharing plates. Here's what we had:
Stuffed Chicken Wing
![]() |
A Thai classic done right. Each wing was deboned and stuffed
with a savoury mix of minced meat, glass noodles, and vegetables, then
deep-fried to a golden crisp. Juicy on the inside, crispy on the outside —
this was a solid start.
Deep Fried Dried Pork & Stir-Fried Fermented Fish with Chilli Paste
![]() |
This dish came in a generous portion for its price point. The
pork was crunchy, well-marinated, and full of flavour. It stood out as one of
the best versions we’ve tasted in Singapore.
Green Curry
![]() |
Creamy and smooth, the green curry came packed with chunks of
tender chicken. It had a balanced spice level, and the rich coconut base made
it an easy crowd-pleaser.
Steamed Seabass with Lime and Chillies
![]() |
We had high expectations for this dish, but it fell slightly
short. While fresh and well-cooked, the broth lacked the sour punch that
typically defines this dish. It wasn’t bad, but compared to the other dishes,
it didn’t steal the show.
Verdict

Ros Lamul offers quality Thai fare with generous portions and authentic flavours. While we’re not ready to declare it the best, it’s certainly one of the better ones we’ve tried.

With so many other intriguing dishes on the menu, a return visit is definitely on the cards.
