Mommy bloggers in Singapore

Some time ago, I had written an article on Daddy Bloggers in Singapore.

I had mentioned that Daddy Bloggers are a rare breed in Singapore and Mommy Bloggers are almost 1000 times more than Daddy Bloggers.

Ok, I may exaggerate on the 1000 times, maybe 20 times more. Naturally, as a parent blogger, I do read Mommy Blogs for inspirations. Since Mother's day is less than a month away, I decided to do a tribute to Mommy Bloggers who inspired me to write and share, here is the list of Mommy Bloggers that I actively read.

In no particular order, the blogs are as follow

Mother's Inc - Anyone in the parenting blogosphere would have heard of Mother's Inc. Daphne tells a tale of motherhood in all brutal honesty that is tastefully laced with humour. She is a wordsmith that is never known to be one that minces her words. It's always a refreshing read from the Simon Cowell of Mommy Bloggers.

Sakura Haraku - Originator of wordless Wednesday that has many mommy bloggers contributing to the Linky party. Another one of her cause was to feature Daddy Bloggers under her Celebrate Fatherhood series.+ 1 for the huge parent bloggers link up. A little known fact, guess who became our first fan of our fanpage? ( Thanks Ai! )

My J Babies- if there was ever a female version of The Wacky Duo, the J babies will fit right in the category. With similar age group and age gap between the girls, their adventures parallel and sometimes cross path with us. Filled with lovely taken photos, Kless tells an entertaining tale of upbringing a pair of sisters. The alternate blog J Babies Dad was also featured in our Daddy Bloggers list.

Catch 40 winks - Founder of Singapore Mom Bloggers - a community of over 100 mommy bloggers. Catch the monologues by this trailblazing and intriguing mom on parenting, lifestyle and the works. Be inspired by her views from her lens and be amazed by her journey.

Mommy Moo - Regina writes with much poise and makes words look like a canvas of beautiful work of art. She may not mean to be lyrical but she is a poet at heart. Her blog may be one year old, but you can never guess when you read the entries akin to a seasoned writer. A delightful read.

Mommy's Cafe - Need a place to kick back and relax with a cuppa? Head down to Mommy's Cafe as Ruth brings you life with her son. While you are there, catch the tale of the Seven Deadly Sins of Blogging, a top seller in my books. The chief architect of MomME Circle – a community for purposeful moms who are building a life and business they love.

Mother of Xander- Lisa is the Mother to Xander and wife to the Blogfather ( whose blog was featured in Daddy Bloggers). Same humour, same in your face and unbashful reporting. What can I say? He cracks me up, she doubles it. Great tag team, great read.

Mum's the Word- If you are familiar with Ed Unloaded, you will have heard of Mum's the word. Jiahui is the wife of Ed, thus making them the 3rd parent tag team bloggers we are featuring. Expect activities galore in this blog

Our Little Smarties - Read all about a working mother's parenting journey with her boy. Emily brings parenting to the forefront. One of the first parent bloggers that we had interacted with since the start of our blogging journey.

The list is by no means exhaustive. These may be the blogs I follow, but there are many more mommy bloggers out there that I have yet to discover. From a daddy's perspective, it is good to hear what mommies are thinking as it helps in the interaction with the other half. One thing that struck me is that regardless of what is written, Mommy bloggers have one thing in common with Daddy Bloggers. We all love our kids! ( no kidding )

Happy reading!

  3. Thanks for the link-up! Yes, you're the first Daddy Blogger that I've met too. Daddy Bloggers are still a rare breed in Singapore. Perhaps you should share more about what motivates you to blog, and it will surely help to bring up more Daddy Bloggers. I'll ask my Hubby to read for sure. Now when I asked him to start a blog, he said he rather play games. Arghhh... :(

    1. Hi Emily, I have a blog post on why I blog at the Bio section. Will be doing a redux next week. Haha so should come in handy. Alternatively maybe you can introduce your hubby to www.daddymatters.sg where we had gathered most of the Singapore online daddies on one platform. You can also visit us at the facebook fanpage. All are welcome :)

  4. This is actually the first "daddy blog" that I've encountered :D In my country, I have yet to discover a real daddy blogger. Most of the parent bloggers here are moms. If there are father bloggers, most of them are concentrate on food and travel.

You are doing a great job in the blogosphere :)

  8. Hi The Wacky Duo, dad blog like yours makes it interesting for mum bloggers as well. We also got to read on a dad's perspective. Hope this can inspire other dad bloggers to express themselves also. :)
