Light Up Singapore

Daily Dose: Light Up Singapore
While Covid19 gripes the nation, there is positive news heading into August. The low community rate is encouraging while the Nation gears up to celebrate her 55th birthday.

To kick off the celebration, a red and white light up will be held nightly for the month of August at the Civic District. It is suitability muted but a sombre reminder that Singapore is resilient.

1) 396 new case confirmed
390 Dorms
3 Community (1 Work Pass, 1 Work Permit, 1 Short Term Visit)
3 Imported Cases

While the dorms numbers remain high, Singapore seems to have a grip on the community cases.  While this is good news, we should continue to be vigilant.  Complacency can lead to outbreaks like what is happening in Danang and HK.

2) Outlets in Bugis Junction, 2 other restaurants among new locations visited by Covid19 cases while infectious.

25 July 2230-0030: Al-Sahira Restaurant
26 July 1250-1540: Bugis Junction (Adidas /KFC)
28 Jul 1200-1300: Ng Ah Sio Bak Kut Teh

3) Unlikely that NZ traveller en route to S Korea was infected with Covid19 during transit.

"Our initial investigations found that it is unlikely that the individual was infected during transit in Changi Airport as that would mean an incubation period of fewer than 24 hours.

"According to the World Health Organization, the average incubation period for COVID-19 infection is five to six days, with a maximum of up to 14 days."

4) National Day Lightup
NDP Light up will start tonight at the Civic District. It will be held nightly from 1 -31 Aug. The locations can be found here.

5) 20  Family Deals for August
Perfect for the 2 long weekends this month.
