Lap Vietnamese Resturant Review: Flavourful Vietnamese Delights

Another day, another Vietnamese Meal

Joo Chiat has a slew of  Vietnamese restaurants around the stretch of Joo Chiat Road. We visited Long Phung Vietnamese Restaurant and Vietsea. Today, we will be heading to Lap Vietnamese Restaurant to try out their Vietnamese cuisine.

Lap Vietnamese Restaurant

Lap Vietnamese Restaurant is located along Joo Chiat Road right next to Joo Chiat Place Public Parking lot. This makes a visit convenient if you are heading there by car. The restaurant is not a very big area and has around 20 tables for diners.

The restaurant is just next to Long Phung Vietnamese Restaurant we tried a few months back. Although these 2 restaurants are side by side, there is a big difference. While Long Phung is known for its traditional Vietnamese dishes, Lap Vietnamese food is a more modern interpretation of the traditional dishes.

Combined Fresh and Crispy Net Spring Roll

This combination of spring roll is very typical of Vietnamese Restaurants. The difference is in the presentation. What is impressive is that it tastes as great as it looks. The herbs filled spring rolls is a delight in each bite. This is probably the most favourable fresh spring roll we had in a long while.

Shrimp and Pork Mini Pancake ( Bánh Khọt Tôm Heo)

This is actually our first time trying out this dish. These savoury pancakes are light with a slight crispy batter. This works great as an appetiser to your meal.

Grilled Arkshell with Onion and Peanut

Usually, we would take the usual fried cockles when we dine in a Vietnamese restaurant. This time around, we tried something different - Grilled Arkshell with Onion and peanuts. This combination is simply delightful!

Spicy Lemongrass Stir-Fried Chicken

Another first for us. We are fans of Lemongrass and add that to chicken with spice, it is hard to resist.

Verdict

Lap Vietnamese Restaurant offers a little bit of a twist on Vietnamese cuisine. To the purist, it may not be what they are looking for. However, for those who want a different dining experience, we highly recommend this. This is the most flavourful meal we had in a while and it is absolutely divine.

If you want a meal that is filled with herbs, spices and mysterious flavour, head to Lap Vietnamese Restaurant for a meal. Given that what we tried is just the tip of the iceberg, we will be back!
