Usually after an overseas trip with the family, I will make a list of suitable activities or places to bring kids in that country. In case you miss it , here are some of the lists that were made.
New year eve is around the corner. That means another round of Fireworks over Singapore Sky
Guess where is the best place to catch the Fireworks in Singapore?
SPICES OF LIFE
The last time I made the Cheesy Bacon Egg Muffin , it was a resounding hit with the family. Since the family enjoyed the experience (I as a cook and the rest as food testers) , why not have another go at new recipe. At this rate, I probably could be a baker dad in the near future.
So without further ado, presenting the Cheesy Egg Bacon Boat.
Fancy a snow party?
In Sunny Singapore, the sight of 'snow' in the tropics excites both young and old. Here are 8 spots you can catch Snow in Singapore this coming Christmas week to soak in the wintry spirit.
One of the best buffet in town is literally in the heart of town. During our Staycation at Marriott Tang Plaza hotel, we got to sample the breakfast buffet at The famed Marriott Cafe as part of our staycation It was our first time as a family to this cafe and to our delight, it was a yummylicious experience.
Christmas Season is our favourite holiday season. This is the season where we get to have opportunities to spend more time with our family due to school holidays.
The past one month had been a special treat for our little chefs in the house. Given that Little Lou's dream is to be chef, it will be hard to resist invites that will take him a little closer to his dream. Being supportive parents, we intend to let our children pursue their own dreams as they wish. Thus when Jamie's Italian invited us for a Focaccia Party at Vivocity, we are all set to go!
SPICES OF LIFE
First thing first.
I am not a cook. My mom is the cook in the family and she had refused to allow me into the kitchen since I was born. As a result, even frying an egg sound foreign to me. Many times I tried to step into the kitchen, only to be shoo away.
Over the weekend, we made a trip down to RWS Trick Eye Museum. Having been there during the opening and having a ton of fun, we decided it is a good time to revisit, especially since they have need Artworks to tickle our fancy.
An impromptu visit to Singapore Zoo on election day lead to this post. It has been a while since we had been to Singapore Zoo that we did not realised that it had grown so big. To cover the zoo in one day and go through all the activities listed would be an impossible task for family with young kids.
In a blink of an eye, another year has zoom by us. If we have our way, we would love time to stand still to catch our breath. With the Dec School Holidays on the horizon, it may be impossible especially with all the activities plan for kids in this Sunny Singapore.
Let you in on a little secret...
We had asked our boys what they would like to do when they grow up. While the bigger boy is still undecided in his 'career' path, Little Lou's answer has been consistent since the first time we asked. He wants to be a CHEF.
Gold Coast is famous for her themeparks and glorious beaches....then there is Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary if you want a little respite from the hustle and bustle that is synonymous with Gold Coast.
It's the time of the year again to plan for the well-deserved year end trip. By now, most would already have booked the airline tickets and the hotels. If you have not, don't wait till the last minute as seats are probably limited to most popular tourist destination.
The haze in Singapore had been lingering For the past 2 to 3 weeks. Official forecast indicates that it will stay till November. Instead of moaning and resigned to staying at home, here is a list of 12 places you can go to for a breath of fresh air!
Fog : noun
Condensed water vapor in cloudlike masses lying close to the ground and limiting visibility.
I always have romantic visions of fog.
This was especially so when I spend a winter in London with my wife during our courtship days. It was cool and refreshing at the same time. Sure it may detered vision and at times block the scenery, but nonetheless, taking a stroll on a foggy day or night with your love one clinging close will be a romantic gesture I can tick off my list. The memory of eating fish and chips with the London eye half covered by the FOG at the background still lingers in my memories.
Ahh.. If only we have the same FOG back home.
As parents, we love to hug our little ones. We enjoy the 'baby smells' that comes from our children. However after a day of activities in hot and humid Singapore, the 'baby smells' are likely to disappear. As much as we love our children, hugging a sweaty and a potentially smelly one may not be every parent's desire.
